Betty Jo Correll Hathcock

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Betty Jo Correll Hathcock, age 84, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. Mrs. Hathcock was born in Caldwell County on April 23,1927 to the late Nelson Correll and Maude Rainey Correll and was the wife of Charles L. Hathcock, Jr. of the home. Betty Jo was a life-long resident of Caldwell County and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lenoir. She had worked as a secretary and saleswoman. Betty Jo was also active in the Cedar Rock Ladies Golf Association and the 2nd Thursday Bridge Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman Correll, Howard Correll, and Charles Correll and her sister, Ruth Rosen. Other than her husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles Lee Hathcock, III(Bud) and Janey, Mikeal Calvin Hathcock and Jan, Ann Sime and Steve; grandchildren, Corey Hathcock, Emma Jane Hathcock, Anna and Jon Dale, Tyler and Jennifer Sime, Maggie Sime; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Sawyer Sime, and Owen Dale. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lenoir on July 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rob Hinman officiating.
