Betty Fetters Bolton

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Betty F. Bolton, age 87, of Lenoir, passed away at her home on July 23, 2008 after a period of declining health. Born August 24, 1920 in Roanoke, VA, Mrs. Bolton was the daughter of the late, Margaret Lisle and Joseph E. Smith. Mrs. Bolton had lived in Lenoir for the past 32 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lenoir. She was a homemaker and a chauffeur for many years. She had volunteered with several elementary school libraries and also worked at Jefferson-Standard in Greensboro, NC.  She loved to read, pick wildflowers, fish and swim with dolphins. She is survived by a Daughter and Son-in-law, Charlotte Ballew and Allen Johnson of Lenoir; a son and Daughter-in-law, Joseph and J.C. Bolton of Lenoir; Three Granddaughters, Kristy and Heath Elkins of Hudson, Crystal and Bryan Nichols of Walstonburg, NC, and Courtney Cohn of Waterbury, Connecticut; Three grand dogs, Bubba, Sweetie and Molly. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas W.J. Bolton. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Thursday July 24, 2008 between 7 and 9 PM. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
