Betty Ruth Benfield

Mrs. Betty Ruth Benfield, 91 of Lenoir, passed away at Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living in Boone on Saturday, May 15, 2021. She was born on May 2, 1930 in Caldwell County, NC to the late Frank Moser and Mary Elizabeth Moser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Benfield, an infant son, and multiple siblings. Betty enjoyed being with family, shopping, reading, loved watching birds, and took pride in being “Nannie” and “GG”. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sharon Philyaw; brother, John Moser and wife Shirley; granddaughters, Elizabeth Garcia and Julie Parker, great-grandchildren, Brittany Curtis, Cade Parker, Lazaro Garcia and Cristian Garcia, great-great grandchildren, Sophie, Karsyn, and Cash.
