Hudson, NC- Mrs. Betsy Ann Sigmon Oxford, age 66, of Hudson, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born March 1, 1943 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Oxford was a daughter of the late Clinton V. and Annie Amelia Cornelius Sigmon and the wife of Otis Oxford, Jr. of the home. Mrs. Oxford was a member of Poovey?s Chapel Baptist Church. She loved to read her Bible and loved to pray. She loved her family, neighbors and friends. She had worked for Hemlock Manufacturing and Industrial Seaming. Surviving other than her husband are three children, Kenny Eugene Oxford and wife Brenda of Jacksonville, FL; Diana Lynn Oxford of Orlando, FL; Ronald Scott Oxford of Newton; two sisters, Norma Fleming and husband Aubrey of Birmingham, AL; Gail Cloninger of Hudson; two brothers, Paul Sigmon of Hudson; Powell Sigmon and wife Virginia of Newton and two grandchildren, Stacy and Ryan Oxford, both of Hudson. A celebration of Mrs. Oxford?s life will be held 7:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Poovey?s Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Nicky Waters and Reverend Jim Hamby officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Poovey?s Chapel Baptist Church.
