Bessie Satterwhite Patterson

Ms. Bessie Louise Satterwhite Patterson, lovingly known as Mama Bessie, 91 of Granite Falls, North Carolina was called home by her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Hickory Falls Rest Home. Bessie was born July 27, 1927 in Caldwell County, Fentress, Texas and was the daughter of the late John J. Satterwhite and Rosie Satterwhite Barnes.She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Patterson, three sisters, Beatrice Hedspeth, Louise Satterwhite and Estelle Satterwhite; two brothers, Fred Satterwhite and John Satterwhite and a special niece that she raised as a daughter, Katie Johnson. She was a member of Smith Memorial United Methodist Church.Bessie was employed with Singer Furniture Companyand retired after many years of service.She also worked with the Caldwell County School System and the Salvation Army. Bessie will be forever remembered and is survived by a special niece that she raised as her daughter, Darlene Harris of Texas; a special family friend (like a daughter), Martha June of Lenoir, NC; five nieces, six nephews, a great niece, Diane Crayton of Texas, other relatives and friends. Ms. Bessie Patterson’s Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Koinonia Apartments, 318 Main Street, Lenoir with Rev. James Wilfong presiding.
