Benny Earl Horton

Conover, NC- Mr. Benny Earl Horton, age 64, of Conover, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born on October 10, 1949 in Wilkes County, Benny was a son of the late Benny Earl Snow and Mary Alice Horton. He had worked as a cook and loved watching football. Benny was well known and loved by many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother in law, Mary Maggilen Horton Bowers and husband, James Bowers; a niece, Denise Bowers; and a nephew, James K. Bowers, Jr. Survivors include three brothers, Leroy Horton, wife Ella, Thomas Clyde Horton, and Jeffery Horton; two sisters, Fatina Horton Hunt and Alda Mae Horton Dula, husband Dale; his nephews, Michael Powell, Makiaya Powell, Dale Robert Dula, Jr., David Coffey, and Thomas Coffey; a niece, Kimberly Coffey; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A memorial service celebrating Benny’s life will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the First Church of God with Pastor Jerome Pearson officiating.
