Benny Adkins

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Benny Adkins, age 71, of Lenoir, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born June 20, 1936 in Logan County, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Virginia Gearhart Adkins and the husband of Mrs. Iva Adkins of the home. Mr. Adkins had worked for Century Furniture. Other than his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Little and husband Kip of Claremont; Tonya Lowman and husband Curtis of Hudson; 4 brothers, Frank Adkins and wife Shirley of Hollywood, SC; Bill Adkins and wife Betty of Charlotte; Paul Adkins and wife Carol of Cullman, AL; Gene Adkins and wife Maxine of Circleville, OH; 4 sisters, Carol Bragg and husband Lincoln of Crum, West Virginia; Patsy Kyte and husband Bruce of Stem, NC; Jo Ann Roberts of Madison, AL; Judy Parsons of Pomeroy, OH and 3 grandchildren, Christian Moretz, Joshua Adkins and Sarah Petersen. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Gerald Stafford; one brother, Roscoe Adkins and one sister, Bonnie Adkins. A celebration of Mr. Adkins? life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir with Reverend Doug Price officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday from 1 until 2 PM, one hour prior to the service.
