Lenoir, NC- Mr. Benjamin Depree Stephens, age 75, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Stephens was born August 14, 1939 in McBee, South Carolina to the late Henry Rivers and Isralee Bowers Stephens.He was retired from Broyhill Furniture and a member of Heavenly Hope Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Stephens was a man who loved his family and was quick to tell anyone how proud he was of his children and grandchildren.He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching races with his soon to be son-in-law, Gary Farr, Jr.But most of all he loved the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Sheets Stephens, of the home; three daughters, Rebecca Stephens and fiancé, Gary Farr, Jr. of Hudson; Rhonda Totherow and husband Jeff of Dallas, NC; Lindsey Cole and husband Joe of Lenoir; one son, Benjamin Dwayne Stephens of Lenoir; seven grandchildren, Rachel Wyatt and husband Michael; Clark Bolick; Raven Totherow; Rose Totherow; Evan Stephens; Joey Cole and Aubree Cole.Mr. Stephens is also survived by three brothers, Henry Rivers Stephens, Jr. and wife Hazel of Dillon, SC; Charlie Stephens and wife Betty of Darlington, SC; Harrison Stephens of Darlington, SC and one sister, Carolyn Thomas of Darlington, SC. A celebration of Mr. Stephen’s life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Heavenly Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Benny Greene officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Evans Funeral Service from 5:00 until 6:30 PM.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 in the McBee Cemetery in McBee, South Carolina.
