Belsia Smith Story

Lenoir- At 8:28 PM, Friday night, Mother beheld Jesus. Her mind is at peace, her body at rest, but, oh my how her spirit must be praising the Lord. Belsia Smith Story passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Shaire Center. She was born April 5, 1925 to the late Joe M. and Lydia C. Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard C. Story, granddaughter, Stacy Story Ponthieux; son-in-law, Douglas Woods; sisters, Ruth S. Helton, Naomi S. Clark and Willie S. Story; and brother, Charles R. (Bobby) Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Carlene S. Woods; sons, D. Brent Story and wife, Cathy; and Douglas J. Story and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Carola W. Crisp and husband, Chuck and Amy W. Sanders and husband, Scott; great-grandchildren, Claren Crisp; Chandler Crisp; Lauren Sanders and Brent; McKenzie , Cody and Ashley Ponthieux; sister, Mary Jane Smith; and brother, J.L. Smith. At Mrs. Story’s request, a private graveside service was held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Sunday, November, 17, 2019 conducted by Reverend Larry Winkler. The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC28645.
