Beatrice Outen Smith

Collettsville, NC- Mrs. Beatrice ?Bea? O. Smith, age 79, of Craig Creek Road, died Thursday, August 03, 2006 at Camelot Nursing Center. Born September 14, 1926 in Kershaw, SC, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Edward and Minnie Phillips Outen and the wife of William ?Smitty? Smith of the home. Mrs. Smith was a member of Mulvale Baptist Church and had worked as a nursing home caregiver. Surviving other than her husband are three daughters, Mary Lou Huffman and husband James of Lenoir; Peggy Greer and husband Jim of Woodstock, GA; Betty Jean Smith of Oregon; three sons, William ?Bill? Smith, Jr. and wife Sherry of Lenoir; Bobby Smith and wife Mischelle of Morganton and Michael Smith and wife Denise of Bentonville, Arkansas; two sisters, Christine Stevens and husband Steve of Boonville, Missouri; Frances Taylor of Hephzibah, GA; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, E.D. Outen and Jack Outen; one sister, Ivey Twitty and her adopted son, Charlie Nettles. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, August 5, 2006 at Mulvalle Baptist Church with Reverend Stanley Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in the Culbertson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11, one hour prior to the service at Mulville Baptist Church.
