Beatrice Pope

Beatrice Wellborn Pope, age 71 of Lenoir, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 15, 2024. She was born on January 28, 1953, in Caldwell County to the late Carl Coffey Wellborn, Sr and Ellen Nelson Wellborn. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Carl Wellborn, Jr; two half-brothers, Joseph Wellborn, and Earl Wellborn, Sr; two half-sisters, Clyde Wellborn, and Mildred Carpenter. Those left surviving include her loving husband of 48 years come June 25, 2024, David Pope; her son, Michael Pope and wife, Leashia; and daughter, Michelle Spradling and husband, Chris; nine grandchildren that she loved and who made her extremely proud, Gabriel Pope, Jada Carnevale, Anthony Carnevale, Joshua Pak, Matthew Pak, Sarah Pak, Nathan Pak, Mason Spradling, and Malcolm Spradling; her sisters, Adrienne Watson of Lenoir, Eva Walsh of Ferguson, Nancy Mackie and her husband, John, of Clover, SC, Alma Mullinax of Lenoir; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was devoted to her family and would brag of each of us every chance she could. She was also very dedicated to her faith. Funeral services will be held at her church, Crest View Baptist Church, in Lenoir on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Mike Isaacs. Interment will immediately follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Happy Valley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 at the church.
