Basil Carswell

Lenoir- Mr. Basil Garmon Carswell, age 54, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 after a period of declining health.Born March 19, 1960 in Caldwell County, he was a son of Mayford Garmon and Barbara Ann Winkler Carswell of Lenoir. Basil was an ordained minister and graduate of Fruitland Bible College.He was former pastor of Globe Baptist Church.He enjoyed golfing, fishing and going to the beach. Surviving other than his parents are 2 sisters, Marcy Bolick and husband Gary of Granite Falls; Lori James and husband Eric of Connelly Springs; 2 nephews, Garrett Bolick, Ben James; 3 nieces, Abby Heubaum, Anna Yount and Erin Bowman and 1 great-niece and 4 great-nephews. A celebration of Basil’s life will be held 6:30 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Larry Winkler officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 6:30 PM, prior to the service.
