Barbara Wallace Hudson, NC- Mrs. Barbara Ann Davis Nelson Wallace, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Caldwell County on March 17, 1934 to the late Walter McKinley Davis and Norma Bryson Davis. She was married to the late Dr. Raymond D. Wallace, Jr. Mrs. Wallace was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed 20 years of travel across the states with her family and loved playing golf. She was the first woman to get a hole-in-one at the former Tri-County Golf Course. She also won 12 beauty titles. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Don Davis, Jack Davis, Wallace Davis, and Walter Davis, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Davis Walker; and daughter-in-law, Cookie Nelson. She is survived by her daughters, Debi Nelson and husband, Jim Solano of Raleigh; Dana Nelson and husband, James W. “Bill” Watson, Jr. of Lenoir; sons, Dudley Nelson III of Lenoir; Davis Nelson and wife, Christine of Granite Falls; Donald Nelson of the home; grandchildren, Michael and Joseph Solano; Tiffany, Avery, Carrigan, Thomas and Donald Nelson, Jr. A memorial service for Mrs. Wallace will be held at the First Baptist Church of Hudson on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Nancy Campbell officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at the church.
