Barbara Andrews Lovins, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. She was born in Caldwell County on January 10, 1934 to the late John and Lucille Andrews. Barbara was a loving a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a 1952 graduate of Lenoir High School and was married to the late Charles Franklin Lovins for 32 years. She was a long-time member of Lower Creek Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the choir, as a greeter, worked in the office, and was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School class. Barbara retired from the Southern Bell (AT&T) after 33 years of service and was a member of the Lenoir Women’s Club. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Lewis Andrews; Jack Andrews; George Andrews; and Jimmy Andrews; sisters, Pauline Laney; Jewel Sullivan; and Francis Andrews. Barbara is survived by her sons, Kent Lovins and wife, Donna; Chuck Lovins and husband, Chad; Greg Lovins and wife, Tammy; daughter, Amy Wright and husband, Major; grandchildren, Donny Lovins and wife, Megan; Dawn Houck and husband, Cory; Josh Lovins; Mark Coffey II and wife, Brooklyn; Hunter Glenn and husband, Brandon; Allie Wright; Aliyah Wright and Daniel Wright; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at Lower Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Larry Gilbreath and Pastor Josh Hughes officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cory Houck, Donny Lovins, Josh Lovins, Mark Coffey II, Brandon Glenn and Grayson Lovins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
