Barbara Withers Hampton

Lenoir, NC- Barbara G. Withers Hampton, age 70, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Lenoir HealthCare. She was born in Catawba County on May 9, 1943 to the late George Withers and Bonnie Miller Withers. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church for many years. Barbara was retired from American & Efird and worked at Holiday Superette. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Herman Withers and nephews, Douglas Withers and Ronnie Withers. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Hampton Faust; brother, Gaither Withers and wife, Mary; grandson, Andrew Kanipe; granddaughter, Amber Kanipe Glenn and husband, Justin; nephews, Brian Withers, Barry Withers, Dennis Withers, Keith Withers; niece, Tina Withers; the Simmons and Chester families; and numerous other extended family members. A celebration of Barbara̢۪s life will be held at Harrisburg Baptist Church on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 1:30 PM with Reverend Ted Williams, Reverend Tony Harris, Reverend Ed Warren and Reverend Rodney Raby officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Withers, Evan Withers, Keith Withers, Austin Burdette, Chris Hatton and Michael Honeycutt. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 prior to the service.
