Ava Cline

Lenoir – Mrs. Ava Craig Cline, age 85, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Woodridge in Monroe, NC. Mrs. Cline was born in Caldwell County on September 13, 1929 to the late James Edward Craig and Cordie Bollinger Craig. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Prestwood and Jack Cline; daughter, Brenda Angley; sister, Mary Brakefield; and granddaughter, Madison Carter. Mrs. Cline retired from Singer Furniture Company after more than 30 years of service. She was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church where she attended regularly until her health prevented it. She loved her immediate family, but was also like a mother to her extended family. Mrs. Cline was a devoted Christian who was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Cline is survived by her children, Kathy Skinner of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Conover, NC; Linda Frye and husband Steve of Monroe, NC; Becky Carter and husband, Alan of Lenoir; step-children, Jack Cline, Jr.; Alan Cline; Leslie Cline; and Tom Stroupe; sisters, Shirley Baker of Lenoir and Margaret Dzuro and husband Ed of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Jordan Powell; Amanda Frowein; Justin Frye; and Lindsay Rose; great-grandchildren, Tanner Frowein and Laityn Frye; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Cline’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 with Pastor Joe Angle officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Bollinger Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jordan Powell, Justin Frye, Brandon Frowein, John Throneburg, Bill Crowe and Casey Throneburg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alan Carter, Nate Rose, Jack Cline, Jr., Leslie Cline, Alan Cline and Tom Stroupe. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
