Author “Fredric” Beane, age 90 of Baton, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehab. Fredric was born on February 12, 1933 to the late John Ervin Beane Sr. and Leeola Beane. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife; Almonta Koontz Beane and two brothers, Bill Beane and Kenneth Beane. Those left to cherish his memory are children; Helen Saunders and husband Junior, Lynn Beane and wife Andrea, Bobby Beane and wife Pam; grandchildren, Brooke Goss and husband Rick, Jeremy Saunders and wife Courtney, Brandon Beane, Justin Haas, Thomas Beane; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Goss, Devin Goss, Greyson Beane, Reagan Goss, Riggs Haas, Kennedy Beane and Chandler Beane; brothers, Bernice Beane, Wilford Beane and wife Linda; sister, Mavis Harris and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Fredric loved serving his community. He retired with 28 years in the United States National Guard. He was also a lifetime member of the Gamewell and Baton Ruritan Clubs. He served on past Board of Directors for the North Catawba Fire Department and Baton Water Department. He was also instrumental in forming the Baton Community Meetings and creating the Green Fitness Park as well. Our dad was a loving father, a wonderful “Poppy” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many of them enjoyed spending time with him camping and trips to the beach. He also loved spending time with his Happy Heart Kid family doing festivals, hay rides, cookouts and play days with them. A graveside service celebrating Fredric’s life will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on October 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Billy Clawson officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the North Carolina National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
