Audie Gray Curtis Granite Falls – Infant Audie Gray Curtis was born on January 15, 2015, and went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was the son of Brent Michael Curtis and Carrie Smith Curtis. Audie’s name was chosen to honor veterans Audie Murphy and Gray Williams. Audie Murphy was a highly decorated World War II hero and Gray Williams is a United States Marine Corps veteran and also one of the Curtis family’s pastors at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Audie was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Clayton and Marlene Buckner, Jean Curtis, Edgar Coffey, and Raymond Smith and also his great-uncle, Kenneth Buckner. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Rhys Michael Curtis, and sister, Victoria Ann Curtis; grandparents Toby and Kim Smith and Barry and Juanita Curtis; great-grandparents Hugh Curtis, Effie Coffey and Betty Smith;aunts and uncles Cody and Amanda Smith, Bradley and Lauren Curtis, and Butch and Revonda McClure; and cousins Holden Smith, Rylee Curtis, Ryder Curtis and Mary McClure. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Whitnel Pentecostal Holiness Church on Thursday, January 22, 2015, with a short service at 6:00 PM followed by a time of visitation with the family.
