Athel Rich Wilcox

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Athel Rich Wilcox of Hudson, born November 3, 1941 went to her heavenly home on September 21, 2009 after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Della Philyaw Rich, and is survived by her husband of 50 years, Earl D. Wilcox of the home. She was retired from the nursing profession. Also surviving are two children, Victor Wilcox and wife , Linda of Lenoir; and daughter, Van Payne and husband, Brad of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren, Amberlin Wilcox of Lenoir, Bethany Daniel of Norman, Oklahoma, and Bonnie Daniel and Thomas Payne of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Faye Gragg of Newton and Clara Huffman of Hudson. A celebration of Athel?s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Whitnel, of which she was a member, on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:00 Am with Reverend Stuart White and Reverend Edd Warren officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to ?The Food Ministry? of First Baptist Church of Whitnel at 1201 SW Connelly Springs Rd., Lenoir, NC 28645.
