Arvil Jack Gragg, Jr “Doc”, age 68, of Lenoir passed from this life to his eternal life with his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 2, 2018.Mr. Gragg was employed with Lenoir Mirror Company and retired after 49 years of service.He was a nursery man and loved the outdoors, but most of all he loved his Lord and his family. Mr. Gragg was preceded in death by his father, Arvil J. Gragg; stepfather, George F. Coffey; Grandparents, Harvey and Rosie Gragg, Roosevelt and Isabella Gragg; and sister-in-law, Anglia Gibbs. Mr. Gragg is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Presnell Gragg of the home; daughter, Julie Gragg Wear and husband, William of the home; grandchildren, Ivey Veronica Wear and Noah Mason Wear of Lenoir; his mother, Christine Gragg Coffey; sister, Judy Gragg Austin and husband, Tom of Patterson; and his beloved pet Maltese, Sophie.Other survivors are mother-in-law, Betty Pope of Drexel;brother-in-law, Gary Presnell and wife, Gail of Newland; sister-in-law, Kay Hollar and husband, Ken of Lenoir; nieces, Cathy Stines, Cynthia Presnell, Laura Beck, Marcie Brown, Alicia Austin; nephews, Joshua Hollar, Paul Gibbs, Tom Austin III; special friends, Greg Bishop, Gary Lovins, Edna Crump, Robin Carswell, Robin Hendrix and Ashley Hamilton.A special thank you to Barbara Jones. A Celebration of Arvil’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, February 8th at 1:00 pm with Pastors David Gragg, Donald Gragg and Gary Lovins.Pallbearers are Tom Austin III, Tommy Austin, Paul Gibbs, Drew Mayberry, Ricky Woods and Adam Beck.The family will receive from from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
