Artie Hall Miller

March 8, 1930 — April 13, 2023

On Thursday, April 13 th Artie Hall Miller, 93, peacefully left this world and was received into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

She was born March 8, 1930, to the late Arvil S. Hall and Lula Triplett Hall. She was also proceeded in death by her brother Ralph G. Hall.

She loved the Lord and fully trusted Him in every aspect of her life. “Leave it in the hands of the Lord”, was her answer to every problem she faced and anytime that she was asked for advice. You only had to talk to her a little while to know that she believed that with all her heart.

She was a hard-working lady at home and when she worked publicly. She said, “if you don’t give a good day’s work for your wages, then you were the same as a thief.” She was always doing something for her family, gardening, sewing, cooking, and cleaning. She made sure that her eight children were clean, fed and well cared for. She raised us to respect others. Most importantly she taught us to trust the Lord. She prayed continually for us and read us the Word of God. Her happiest times were, as one by one, she saw us all saved and baptized. She truly was a virtuous woman. We cherished her in life and will continue to cherish her until we all meet again in Heaven.

She is survived by her eight children, born of the late John W. Winebarger. Loretta Greene/Ray, John D. Winebarger/Cindy, Karen Greene/George, Demie Presnell and Sue Graham all of Lenoir. James M. Winebarger/Pat, of Hudson, Rita Stinett/Phillip of Granite Falls and Christeen Scott of Claremont. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

She also leaves behind her wonderful church family at East Flat Baptist Church of the Gamewell Community where she was a member.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM at East Flat Baptist Church. 2063 East Flat Church Road Lenoir.

Funeral Services will be Monday, April 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM at East Flat Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Billy Mitchell and Preacher Mike Gragg.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Kevin Greene, Todd Williams, Jamie Winebarger, Ryan Winebarger, Jerry Ray Canipe, Ashley Haskett, Robbie Chester, BJ Chester, and Anthony Presnell. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Stinett and Ronnie Canipe.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Amorem the Robins Center for their wonderful care and respect. You all are such a gracious group of people, from nurses, CNA’s, and housekeeping. We could not have asked for better care of our dear Mother and family.
