Arthur Ryan

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Arthur Ryan, age 81, of Lenoir, died Wednesday, August 28, 2008 at his home. Born January 21, 1927 in Manhattan, NY, Mr. Ryan was a son of the late Jeremiah Patrick and Lillian Hughe Ryan and the husband of Maria Amelia Palomino Ryan to whom they have shared 47 years of marriage. Mr. Ryan graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York in the class of 1944. He served during WWII and Desert Storm as a chief radio operator. He loved reading, traveling and chocolate. He was a ham radio operator, call sign, W2ECZ. Other than his wife, he is survived by his son, Mario Ryan of Lenoir; three daughters, Lillian Ryan of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Adriana Ryan of Boca Raton, FL; Aimee D?Alonzo and husband Marco of Lenoir; 2 granddaughters, Tatiana Kraft and Corinna Kraft, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 2 grandsons, Jonathan Ponsard, II of Boca Raton, FL; Dominic D?Alonzo of Lenoir; one brother, Robert Ryan and wife Peggy of Royal Palm Beach, FL and one sister, Sally Peterson and husband Jon of Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
