Arlettia Carper Myers

Lenoir, NC- Arelitta Elaine Carper Myers, formerly of Bluefield, passed away on May 7th, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir, North Carolina. She was born February 21, 1960 in Pineville, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Johnny Lee and Saundra Harper Carper. Arelitta spent her early years in Lynco, West Virginia and moved to Bluefield in 1990. She was of the Christian faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Carper. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah (Steven) Riley of Lenoir, NC; and Cassandra McKinney (Howard Beckett, III) of Bluefield. Her surviving siblings are George (Connie) Carper of Glenn White, West Virginia; Eric and Andy Carper of Martinsville, VA; Jeannetta Hayes of Charlotte, NC; Ricky Carper of Denver, NC; Marlene (Bobby) Dyers of Denver, NC; and Rocky (Debbie) Carper of Charlestown, West Virginia. Her pride and joy were her four grandchildren, Gavin and Korbin Riley of Lenoir, NC and Sierra and Brennan Beckett of Bluefield. She had a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Arelitta was lovingly cared for by both daughters and enjoyed laughing and spreading joy, eating apple pie, and most of all spending time with her family. Special thanks to her caregivers at Caldwell Hospice. The memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10th, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Zion United Church of Christ, 1019 College Avenue, SW, Lenoir, NC.
