Arlette Juliette Papot Nipper

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Arlette Juliette Papot Nipper, age 84, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at Camelot Manor Nursing Center. Born March 14, 1929 in Niort, France, she was the daughter of the late André Leon and Marguerite Corlieu Papot and the wife of the late Richard Earl Nipper, the former publisher of The Lenoir News-Topic. Mrs. Nipper lived in Lenoir for 54 years. As a child, she lived in Saint-Cybardeaux, France, where she met and married US Army Sergeant Richard Nipper. Following his return from France they moved first to Knoxville, then Bristol, TN. While in Lenoir, she had worked for many years at Bumbarger’s Book Store. Arlette dearly loved her family, animals and her flowers. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Nipper Hartley and husband Robey; her son, Kasey Nipper and grandchildren, Judson Corpening, Drew Hartley and wife Alicia; Colin Hartley and Courtney Hartley. A service celebrating Mrs. Nipper’s life will be held at 4:00pm, Saturday, February 8, 2014, in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with the Reverend Robert Hinman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will take place in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
