Arlen Roy Rash

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Arlen “Roy” Rash, Sr., age 77, of Lenoir, passed away on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at his home. Born December 14, 1935 in Wilkes County, NC, Roy was a son of the late Odell and Emaline Adams Rash. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church. Roy worked in sales for many years and also enjoyed watching sports. He enjoyed watching racing and basketball the most. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hobert Edward Rash; and two sisters, Lena Rash Shumate and Pansy Pauline Rash. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Owens Rash of the home; three sons, Arlen Rash Jr., Bryant Rash, wife Leeann, and Wayne Rash, wife Paula, all of Hudson; five grandchildren, Alex, Colby, Zack, Caleb and Caroline; Roy is also survived by numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of Roy’s life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Mountlawn Memorial Park in North Wilkesboro with Pastor Sam Craven officiating. Memorials can be sent to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or to Union Grove Baptist Church at 1808 Union Grove Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.
