Annie Ruth Pope Hollar

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Annie Ruth Pope Hollar, age 88, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.Born September 6, 1926 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late John Burl and Ella Mae Hendrix Pope and the wife of the late Thomas Dale Hollar. Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Diane Dillard; 4 brothers, Burnice Pope, Kenneth Pope, Charles Pope; Dermont Pope and 3 sisters, Beatrice Reynolds, Opal Bryant and Nell Smith. Mrs. Hollar was a loving mother and grandmother and was faithful to all her family.She was a member of Laytown Baptist Church and had worked in the furniture industry for many years. She is survived by 3 sons, Ned Earnest Dillard and wife Barbara; Norris Nelson Dillard and wife Norma; Troy McCoy Dillard and wife Teresa, all of Lenoir; 2 daughters, Donna Dillard Frye and husband Jerry of Lenoir; Debra Dillard Simmons and husband Chuck of Holly Springs; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Hollar’s life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Danny Murphy officiating.Burial will follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 until 4:00 PM, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be:Jarrett Holder, Brock Simmons, Rhett Simmons, Rickie Cannon, Bert Arrington and Christopher Frye.Honorary Pallbearers will be Travis and Bryan Dillard.
