Annie Greer Greene

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Annie Greer Greene, age 97, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Shaire Center. Born March 9, 1909 in Watauga County, Mrs. Greene was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia Sanders Greer, and the wife of the late Charlie Greene. Mrs. Greene was a lifelong member and the oldest member of Central Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and people and enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. She is survived by one daughter, Georgie Powell of Sawmills, one brother, Talmage Greer and wife Joyce of Baton; three sisters, Agnes Chandler of Jacksonville, FL; Omie Patrick and husband Bob of Charlotte; Shirley West and husband Harvey of Lenoir; one granddaughter, Carolyn Lawing and husband Harvey of Granite Falls; 6 grandsons, Ray Powell and wife Marie of Lenoir; Dennis Powell and Bruce Powell both of Sawmills, Bryan Powell of Commerce, GA; Gary Powell and wife Vicki of Kannapolis; Keith Powell and wife Arlene of Hudson; 11 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Geneva Ann Greene, 2 brothers, Roy Greer and Raymond Greer and 2 sisters, Bertha St. John and Betty Cook.
