Annie Katherine Chandler

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Annie Katherine Garland Chandler, age 88, of Lenoir, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Lenoir Health Care Center. Born June 9, 1924 in Burke County, Annie was a daughter of the late Alexander and Adella Garland. Annie was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. She worked for a number of years in the furniture industry. She was an avid gardener and will be remembered for her love of flowers. She was always putting herself last trying to take care of others. Annie’s main focus in life was her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Chandler; Brothers, Charles, Julius, Ira Lee and Calvin Garland; and sisters, Leona and Myrtle Garland. Survivors include her daughters and sons in law, Wilma and Rodney Bolick, Linda and Wayne Woods and Carolyn and Quintin Howell; grandchildren, Steven Chandler and Dana Bousman, Michelle and Johnny Hagaman, Dena and Eric Ford, Matthew and Briana Howell and Wayne Woods, Jr.; Great grandchildren, McKinley and Dora Hagaman, Jeremiah, Kyleigh and Madison Ford; nephews, Jerry, Larry, Tommy, Danny, Rayvon and Jimmy Garland; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Annie’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir. Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Chandler, Matthew Howell, Wayne Woods, Jr., Johnny Hagaman, Tommy Garland, Daniel Clark, and honorary pallbearer, Eric Ford. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 3:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
