Anne Sherrill Huffman

Granite Falls, NC- Mrs. Anne Sherrill Huffman, age 71, passed away at the Camelot Manor Nursing Facility on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Born December 6, 1937, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Grace Keith Sherrill. Mrs. Huffman was raised in Hickory where she attended Viewmont Elementary and Hickory High School. She married Gary Huffman and raised four children. After they divorced in 1976, she moved to Midland , Texas. There she worked and raised two children, Julie and Stephanie Wilmes. Anne was also a Navy veteran. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela H. Rice of Granite Falls, and Jackie H. and James Little of Claremont; Two sons, Mike Huffman and Buddy and Brenda Huffman of Catawba County; a sister, Nancy S. Bryant of Conover and she is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a niece and nephew. A memorial service for Mrs. Huffman will be held Monday, March 16 at 2:30 PM in the Camelot Manor Nursing center in Granite Falls. Another memorial service will be held that evening, March 16, 2009, at the Joy Baptist Church on Herman Sipe Road in Conover at 6:00 PM.           In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials being made to, Caldwell County Hospice and Pallative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645; Camelot Manor Nursing Facility, 100 Sunset Street, Granite Falls, NC 28630 or Joy Baptist Church, 4015 Herman Sipe Road, Conover, NC 28613.
