Anna Lou Watson

Lenoir, NC – Anna Watson, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Gateway Nursing Center. Mrs. Watson was born in Watauga County on January 7, 1922 to the late John Matheson and Haley Calloway Matheson. She was married to the late Arvil (Joney) Watson. Mrs. Watson was a charter member of Crestview Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jim Watson and her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Watson. She is survived by her sons, John Watson of Lenoir and Mike Watson of Taylorsville; and a daughter-in-law, Francine Dula Watson; grandchildren, Monica Brookshire, Johnna Triplett, Brent Watson, Angie Clark, Tony Watson and Lisa Cox; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Watson’s life will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Isaacs officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 on Friday, November 25, 2011 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
