Anita "Susie" Susanna Beard

We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beloved Anita "Susie" Susanna Beard, who left us on March 28, 2024. She was born on January 23, 1971. A beacon of love, warmth, and compassion. Susie was known for her bubbly, outgoing, motherly, lovable, caring, and fun-loving nature.

Susie's life was a testament to her love for family and children. Although she was unable to have children of her own, she opened her heart and home to many children over the years, treating them as her own. She brought joy and comfort to everyone she met, and her life was a living embodiment of love and care.

Her love extended beyond her family to nature as well. She had a special fondness for gardening and was a dab hand in the kitchen, where she often expressed her creativity. Her other favorite hobbies included crafting and spending time with her adorable grandbabies. The color orange, reflective of her vivacious personality, was her favorite.

Susie is survived by her dear husband, Charles Beard, and her stepdaughters, Casey Beard, Mikayla Manzanares (Michael), and Janna Good. She leaves behind cherished sisters, Billie-Ann Fleming, Regina Peeler (Rick), Marie Peeler (Danny), Tammie Buccini, Tracy Hamby (Keith), and her stepmother, Betty Fleming.

Her nieces Kara Money (Travis), Selena Royston (Chris), Sarah Jackson (Curtis), and Jessica Buccini, and nephews Danny Peeler Jr. and Welsey Buccini remember her fondly. The bright lights in her life, her grandsons Gregory Allen, Desmond, Eli and Levi, and granddaughters Gracelyn Reign and Khloe, will miss their beloved grandmother dearly.

We fondly remember her predeceased father, Clyde Fleming Jr., mother Alma Lee Cantrell, brothers Billy Joe Cantrell and Ricky Seagle, and grandparents Pansy and Bill Fleming Sr. They were pillars of her life and their memory lives on in her.

Susie's life was a radiant beam of love and kindness that illuminated everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed deeply but will live on in the hearts of those she left behind.

A memorial service celebrating Susie's life will be held at Setzer's Gap Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
