Mrs. Amarylis L. Hall, 85, of Lenoir, passed away on January 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Burke County on December 31, 1931 to the late Hugh Tate and Gladys Lacy Keller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Hall and her brother, Vance Tate. Mrs. Hall was a member of Flemings Chapel Baptist Church. She loved to garden and she and her late husband enjoyed spending time at the Outer Banks flounder gigging. She is survived by her sons, John S. Hall, Jr. and wife, Brenda and David W. Hall; grandsons, Scott Hall and wife, Dawn and Destin Hall; and her great-grandchildren, Avery, Paisley and Kaley. A celebration of Mrs. Hall’s life will be held at Fleming’s Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 12:00 with Pastor Lester Honson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Woods, Mike Moses, Mike Martin, Mitchell Crisp, Zack Benfield and Cody Hamby. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
