Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Alvina Glennette Logan-Vernon, age 45, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at WFU Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.Born July 24, 1968 in Caldwell County, Alvina was a daughter of John Alvin Logan Pearson and the late Gladys Renette Dixon. Other than her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Glennie Helton. Alvina was a faithful member of West End Mennonite Church and had worked at Gateway Nursing Center for over 6 years. Surviving other than her father is her husband Jerome; 7 children; Talmika, Tyrone, Alshajuan “Snake”, Eric, Alquleeaha, Alziaha and Alshemiah; 5 siblings; Sharon, Norma, Carmeleta, James, Orlando and a special Aunt, Robin.She is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives. A celebration of Alvina’s life will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 14, 2014 at First Church of God in Lenoir with Reverend James Wilfong officiating.Burial will follow in the Harpertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00, one hour prior to the service at the church.
