Alley T. Brooks

Lenoir, NC – Mr. Alley T. Brooks, age 82, of Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born June 29, 1930 in Wilkes County, Mr. Brooks was a son of the late Ed J. and Annie Elizabeth Treadaway Brooks and the husband of Mrs. Elaine Cathy Teague Brooks of the home. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vena Sawyer; three brothers, Will Brooks, Ed Junior Brooks and Ken Brooks. He was a member of Grandview Park Baptist Church and had worked in furniture manufacturing. Surviving other than his wife are three children; James Brooks and Josie of Wilkes County; Claude Brooks and wife Felicia of Elkin; Jerry Teague and wife Marie;2 sisters-in-law, Carol Brooks; Mabel Brooks of Sonora, KY; special cousin and best friend, Linda Campbell; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mr. Brooks’ life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Grandview Park Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Spann officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 in the church sanctuary. The family respectfully requests memorials be made to: Grandview Park Baptist Church, c/o Building Fund, 2539 Grandview Circle, Lenoir, NC 28645 or Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
