Alice Walker Mccoy

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Alice Walker McCoy, age 90, of Lenoir, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born May 21, 1917 in Caldwell County, Mrs. McCoy was a daughter of the late Boyd Jacob and Rose Underwood Walker and the wife of late Hugh Jefferson McCoy. Mrs. McCoy had worked in the furniture industry and was of the Baptist Faith where she was a former member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Michael Dean McCoy of Lenoir. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Claude, Burel, Ira, George and Russell Walker and one sister, Mrs. Roy Chapman. A celebration of Mrs. McCoy?s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir with Reverend Edyth Pruitt officiating.
