Lenoir, NC- Mr. Alfred Lee Gragg, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. Mr. Gragg was born in Caldwell County on February 9, 1937 to the late Joseph and Celia Woodruff Gragg. He was married to Locie Miller Gragg for 28 years. Mr. Gragg was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and sang with the Liberty Gospel Singers. He enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillie Mae Hollander, Cordelia Barnes, Artelia Ellis, Altia Gragg and brother, Taylor Gragg. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Gregory Lee Gragg and wife Ann; Johnny Gragg and wife, Judy; daughter, Cynthia Gragg Henson, and husband, Dale; step-daughters, Dorothy Davis and husband, Keith; Donna Harmon; Diana Lewis and husband, Iven; sister, Pearlen Woody; and 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and other relatives. A celebration of Mr. Gragg̢۪s life will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Michael Wilson officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Joshua Gragg, Michael Gragg, Dustin Lee Gragg, Narien Penley, Iven Lewis, and Jon Walsh. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to: Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
