Lenoir, NC- Mr. Alfred Wenfred Dula, age 69, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born December 12, 1943 in Caldwell County, Mr. Dula was a son of the late Ralph Henry and Beulah Mae Patterson Dula. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Therling, Ralph, Margaret and Nancy. He was a member of the Dulatown Presbyterian Church where he was active on various committees and was active in the NAACP. He had served his country honorable during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He was a hard worker in the furniture industry and when he had time, he enjoyed taking his family fishing. He is survived by his children, Kimmie Alfred Michaux and wife Stephanie of Bushtown; Tira Michaux Horton and husband Sherman of Lenoir; Ericka Michaux of Lenoir; Tonya Dula and husband Nicholas Douglas of Morganton; Lara Dula of Lenoir; Sabrina Simpson and husband Terry LaTodd of Granite Falls; 1 brother, Keith Dula and wife Pamela of Hickory; 10 Grandsons, 4 Granddaughters, 4 Great-Grandsons, 5 Great-Granddaughters 3 Nephews and 2 Nieces. A celebration of Mr. Dula̢۪s life will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Dulatown Presbyterian Church with Reverend Eddie Johnson, Reverend Freeman, and Reverend Howard Lee Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Dulatown Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church.
