Alexander Decator West

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Alexander "Pete" Decator West, age 78, of Lenoir, died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born May 12, 1929 in Caldwell County, Mr. West was a son of the late Floyd Eugene and Lila Echard West and the husband of Billie Sue Pitts West of the home. Mr. West was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Other than his wife, he is survived by a son, Dennis West and wife Martha of Lenoir; 2 sisters, Esta Correll of Lenoir; Frieda Bellew of Huntsville, AL; 2 half-brothers, Chris West of Asheville; Michael West of Newton; one granddaughter, Olivia West of Lenoir and one grandson, Billy Joe Moore of Trout Creek, Montana. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Steve West; one daughter, Debra Janette West and three brothers, Jack, Paul and Eugene West. A graveside service of celebration will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Wilson Park Cemetery with Reverend Marsha Joyner and Reverend Joe Parker officiating.
