Albert Wood

Albert Beamer Wood, age 84, of Granite Falls, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at his residence.  He was born February 6, 1939 in Wilkes County to the late Beamer Wood and Agnes Moore Wood.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Gaye Culler Wood; son, Rick Wood; brothers, Richard Wood and Tom Wood; sister, Patsy White.

Survivors include two sons, James Wood of Hudson and Frankie Kirk of Newton; two daughters, Angel Pickard and husband Tom of Pelion, SC and Selena McDonald of Hickory; sisters, Mabel Brown and husband Carl, Rosa Myers, and Vickie Bradshaw; brother, Gene Wood; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Albert’s caretakers Joshua Albert Wood, Janet “Dolly” Sprinkle, Ann Bailey and Barbara Clark.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 am at Evans Funeral Service Chapel conducted by Reverend Derrick Wilson.  The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Zionville, NC.

Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Flowers, Frankie Kirk, Joshua Wood, Chris Johnson, David Thompson, and Allen Holsclaw.
