Hudson, NC – Mr. Albert Lee Brown, age 76, of Hudson, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born November 15, 1934 in Wilkes County, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Luther and Nora Soots Brown and the husband of Mrs. Ethel Kelley Brown to whom he was married for 41 years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carmen Crump; brother, James Brown and two sisters, Bernice Smithey and Grace Brown. Mr. Brown was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church and retired from Lenoir Mirror. Surviving other than his wife is his daughter, Kay Howell and husband Gary of Ranlo, NC; two sons, Terry Annas and wife Denise of Hudson; Jeff Annas and wife Elden of Myrtle Beach, SC; 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Brown’s life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Mountain Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Clifton Black officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at Mountain Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be: Rex Minton, Jr., Kevin Annas, Jade Howell, Phillip Lookadoo, Barry Duty and Levi Annas. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Gene Grogan, Jimmy Wilson, Eugene Austin, Larry Billings, Wilson Stalls and Brad Cornett. The family respectfully requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC, 28645 or to Mountain Grove Baptist Church, 2484 Connelly Springs Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
