Lenoir – Charles Alan Moore, age 55, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice. He was born in Caldwell County on August 9, 1960 to Charles Moore and Joanne Parlier Moore. He and his wife, Brenda Andrews Moore, had just celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary. Alan was a wonderful, loving husband, father and son. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir where he taught Sunday School for more than 20 years, worked with the youth, served as Deacon and sang in the choir. He had a love for music that started at Hibriten High School where he played in the band. His love for music continued throughout his life as he became a member of the Lenoir Saxophone Ensemble. Alan also was known for being an artist. In addition to his wife and parents, Alan is survived by his daughter, Kaitlin Moore of Hawaii and son, Jared Moore of Lenoir and his sister, Martha Moore Watts and husband, Keith. A memorial service celebrating Alan’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Lenoir on Monday, July 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Josh Hughes and Pastor Thomas Hinton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 in the church parlor. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
