Alan “Rocky” Gregory Johnson, age 66, of Hudson, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. He was born in Caldwell County on July 30, 1950 to the late Joe Johnson and Mary Lou Holder Johnson. He was married for 47 years to Paula McDonald Johnson of the residence. Rocky was a 1968 graduate of Hudson High School and then joined the United States Navy serving as a gunner’s mate. He owned and operated A.G. Johnson Electric and was a true New York Yankees Baseball fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Johnson. Other than his wife, he is survived by his son, Jarrod Johnson; brother, Marvin Johnson and wife, Aileen; sister, Janis Johnson Greene and husband, Eddie; sister-in-law, Vanda Johnson; granddaughter, Kailee Johnson; grandson, Kaiden Murray; nieces, Erica Johnson Greene, McKenzie Bailey, and Wendy Carlton; nephews, Troy Johnson and Joshua Johnson; great-nieces, Abigail Phillips, Rachel Greene, Andrea Johnson and Madilyn Johnson; and great-nephews, Tristen Johnson, Charlie Greene, Gauge Johnson, and Jude Johnson; aunts, JoAnne Holder Cooke and Verna Johnson Thompson. A celebration of Rocky’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jim Lee officiating. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association, 55 W.
