Agnes Maria Lawton

Agnes Maria Lawton: January 17, 1943 - October 15, 2024

Agnes "Aggie" Lawton passed peacefully on October 15, 2024 at the age of 81. Aggie was born in Alpha NJ to the late Joseph and Clara Katarba. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Brother-in-law & Sister Jim & Claire McDevitt; and her brother Joel Katarba.

Aggie was a graduate of St. Francis Nursing School in Trenton, NJ and received her Nursing Certificate in June of 1961. She was a Head Nurse in ICU at Princeton Hospital for 11 years. She then remained an RN in many different capacities throughout the years. She loved her family, the beach, and a good Dewars Scotch Old-Fashion.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years Robert James Lawton, her son Mark Lawton and partner Erin Albright; her son-in-law and daughter Randy and Meghan Harmon; and her step-grandchildren of Ashley Albright and husband Cole Fuller, Matt & Miranda Yerry, and Emily Harmon and partner Jonathan Fuller.

A Receiving of friends and family will take place at Evans Funeral Home in Lenoir, NC on Wednesday October 23 from 5:30-7:00pm. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 24 at 10:00am at Evans Funeral Home, with a Graveside Ceremony immediately following at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Lenoir, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Boys Town (boystown.org).
