Precious wife, mother and grandmother, sister and aunt, Betty Ann Severt (aka Sissy, Nana Banana, Betty Boop), was a daughter of the late Henderson Stines and Rosa Lee Cottrell, passed away on January 7, 2023. She was born December 14, 1937 in Wise County, Virginia.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Michael Wayne Severt, her children, Shirley Payne (Colen) from Lenoir, NC. Paul Cole from Hudson, NC. Timothy Cole(Violeta) from Hickory, NC. Tena Davis (Robert) from Lenoir, NC; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by 5 siblings, Mary Fleenor, Francis Shew, James Cottrell, Josephine Stines, Larry Stines and Roy Stines, numerous nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in passing by an infant son, Danny Edward Cole, a daughter, Sharon Kay Church and a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Coffey. 3 brothers, Gene Stines, Jesse Stines and Clyde Jr Cottrell.

Betty retired from Hickory Springs Manufacturing after 28 years. She received many awards during her tenure and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. After retirement she enjoyed time spent with family and gardening. Her favorite flower was a rose, for which she was the most beautiful and elegant one.

Betty was in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family praying around her bed. As she transitioned, there was a miraculous gift of peace that flowed through everyone present, giving testimony for her love of God. Parkinsons and Dementia, not once, overshadowed her love and affection for family and friends. She was always saying or trying to say, " I love you". She was truly love embodied.

Betty was a woman of faith and grace, a devout Christian serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She wanted nothing more than for her family to be saved and diligently prayed for each one. She has now joined with her mother, Rosa Lee, for whom she missed dearly.

There will be a celebration of life for Betty on Thursday, January 12th, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home in Lenoir, NC.

Receiving of family and friends will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Service will be12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, NC at 3 : 00 PM.

Pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Danny Cole, Johnny Rosales, Josh Rosales, Elijah Craddock, Dustin Yates, and Ayden Ryder. Honorary Pallbearers are her great grand daughters, Madison Coffey and Destiny Craddock.
